Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (also called Korsakoff psychosis, alcoholic encephalopathy, Wernicke's disease, and encephalopathy - alcoholic) is a manifestation of thiamine deficiency, or beri-beri. This is usually secondary to alcohol abuse.
